Volunteering |
| We
are looking for a few volunteers to help teach classes in English
at our school in Sikkim. The school year runs from February to November.
The students currently enrolled at the school range in age from 4
to 11. There are also opportunities to help teach small groups of
older students and organize after school activities.
The volunteers should be mature with good communications skills, patience and the desire to teach children. Teaching experience is an asset. It is preferred that the volunteers commit to staying for two months. This is the maximum amount of time that a foreigner can stay in Sikkim with a regular tourist permit. The volunteers stay in the home of a local villager at a cost of about US$10 per month and all meals are provided. Email sikkimacademy@yahoo.com if you are interested. |
