It has been a while between news...

But life is unpredictable and sometimes takes you in another direction than you thought it would flow.

I had to leave Sikkim for a couple of months. The thing is as a foreigner you can stay in Sikkim (which is a restricted area) for a maximum stay of 2 months with a special permit. After this you can only return after at least 3 months. I applied for an extension but this was not approved so had to pack my bags...

Last year I knew some ways to stay longer but that is against the rules and not possible anymore.

Of course in Sikkim everything is still up and running. We had the school uniforms made and shortly before I left they were ready. Until then the children came to school in their normal clothes which is not common since every school has their own school uniform.

You can see the shiny and proud faces of the kids in their new dresses!

In the first two months of the school year we mostly focussed on english because in general the knowledge was a bit poor. The children were divided in level groups.

In the meantime the classes are reorganized and all other subjects are taught as well. Right now there are 4 classes: nursery-LKG combination class, UKG, class 1, class 2.

Even though not physically there, I will as good as possible keep you informed about what's going on!
